Terms of Service

FoodieBuddy is a food discovery and recommendation application that helps users find restaurant dishes matching their dietary preferences and health goals. The Service includes:

• A personalised dish recommendation engine that scores dishes based on your dietary profile, nutrition targets, restaurant rating, and dish popularity.
• A restaurant menu directory with nutrition estimates derived from our canonical dish database, AI-based estimation, and third-party nutrition APIs.
• A waitlist and account system for early access and personalised features.

You must be at least 13 years of age to use FoodieBuddy. By using the Service, you represent that you are 13 years of age or older. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the Service.

If you create an account, you are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Providing accurate information, including your dietary preferences and health goals.
• Notifying us immediately at prasanna.bhope@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You may not share your account with others, create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, or use the Service to impersonate any person or entity.

Nutrition data on FoodieBuddy is estimated, not medically verified. Calorie, protein, fat, carbohydrate, and other nutrition figures are derived from our canonical dish database, AI estimation models, and third-party nutrition APIs. These estimates:

• May not reflect the actual preparation, portion size, or ingredients used by a specific restaurant.
• Are not a substitute for professional medical or dietary advice.
• Should not be used to manage medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, celiac disease, severe allergies) without consulting a qualified healthcare professional.

If you have a medical condition or specific dietary requirements for health reasons, please consult a registered dietitian or healthcare provider before relying on any information in the Service.

Restaurant menu data on FoodieBuddy is obtained through automated scraping, OCR parsing, and third-party data sources. As a result:

• Menu items, prices, descriptions, and availability are subject to change without notice and may not reflect the current offerings at any restaurant.
• Allergen information displayed in the app is estimated based on typical ingredients and may not be accurate for a specific restaurant's preparation. Always confirm allergen information directly with the restaurant before ordering.
• FoodieBuddy is not liable for any inaccuracies in menu data, pricing errors, or items being unavailable at a restaurant.

FoodieBuddy is a discovery and information service, not a food delivery platform or restaurant operator. We do not prepare, handle, or deliver food. We are not responsible for:

• The quality, safety, taste, or presentation of food served at any restaurant listed on the platform.
• Any illness, allergic reaction, or adverse health outcome resulting from food consumed at a restaurant discovered via FoodieBuddy.
• The accuracy of restaurant ratings, reviews, or any user-generated content.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from FoodieBuddy without our written permission.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the FoodieBuddy app.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, our servers, or our databases.
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any content that is harmful, offensive, or violates the rights of others.

The FoodieBuddy name, logo, app interface, and the underlying canonical dish database are proprietary to FoodieBuddy and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any FoodieBuddy content without our express written permission.

Restaurant names, menus, and trademarks appearing in the Service belong to their respective owners. FoodieBuddy does not claim ownership over restaurant brand assets.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at prasanna.bhope@gmail.com.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FoodieBuddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
